Beaumont, TX : One dead after a Auto-pedestrian accident on MLK on Monday, October 17, 2016

Monday, Oct. 17 at 11:46 pm, officers responded to MLK northbound at Elgie in reference crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The caller stated the victim was not responding. Officers learned a female pedestrian was attempting to cross the road in the dark and was struck by a passing vehicle. She was transported to St. Elizabeth's ER where she was officially pronounced as deceased. The Traffic Unit responded to take over the investigation, and the ID unit responded to photograph the scene. The victim was identified as a 41-year-old Beaumont woman, but investigators have been unable to locate her next of kin.
