Nashville, TN : Two people killed, six people injured in a four-vehicle crash at the Jefferson Street Bridge on Thursday, January 22, 2015

Two people were killed and six people were injured in a four-vehicle crash at the Jefferson Street Bridge and Third Avenue North on Thursday.

The victims have been identified as 64-year-old Willie Nichols and 66-year-old Aaron Hall.

Police said the two victims were waiting at a red light in Nichols' Cadillac sedan behind two other vehicles at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Third Avenue. As the light turned green, the Cadillac was hit hard by a Toyota Tundra pickup truck as it came off of the Jefferson Street Bridge.

Nichols and Hall were both rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they were pronounced dead.

The suspected driver of the pickup truck, 29-year-old Stephanie Ferguson, and the truck's passenger, 28-year-old Ashley Morrison, were seriously injured and taken to Vanderbilt.

Four other people inside of the two other vehicles involved in the crash received non-critical injuries.

Police have determined that Ferguson's license was revoked.

Channel 4 has learned that Ferguson had been in court earlier Thursday morning to be sentenced on a DUI charge.

During the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2013, Ferguson drove into a home in Madison. The responding officer wrote that Ferguson spoke incoherently and tried to walk with a fractured leg, but made no cries of pain.

Court records show Ferguson never showed up for her court date after the DUI. Police served the outstanding warrant on her last month.

Ferguson has a long history of not showing up in court and for being arrested for driving on a revoked license. Channel 4 found some 15 revoked license charges since 2006.

At Thursday's fatal wreck, police believe Ferguson may have lied to witnesses and police, saying she wasn't the one driving. She said there was a man in the truck.

"I asked the lady, 'Was there someone else in the truck?' She said, 'Yeah.' I said, 'Who was it, a man?'" said Nora Jackson, a witness. "She said, 'Yeah, he ran.' But then come to find out it was just her and another girl in the car."

Most of Ferguson's sentence on the latest DUI charge was probated. She got out of jail after serving just two days.

This investigation is ongoing. Police said charges related to the crash will be determined after consulting with the district attorney's office.
