SAUGUS, MA : Man killed when car crashes through garage, down embankment in Saugus on Sunday, 20th January 2019
A father of four was killed on Sunday after his car went crashing through a garage and down an embankment in Saugus.
The car reportedly smashed through a two-car garage, tumbled off a 20-foot cliff and flipped over, landing upside-down in a snowy ravine.
Police responding to Hammersmith Drive about 1:30 p.m. say the victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim’s family told 7News’ Steve Tellier that the victim was a hard-worker and a great father. He leaves behind a wife of 50 years and four sons.
The family believes the victim suffered a medical emergency upon entering the driveway and that weather was not a factor.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
