Jacksonville, FL :Tractor-trailer driver cited after crash on I-77 on Tuesday , June 23rd 2015

The driver of a tractor-trailer was cited for failure to maintain lane control after a crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 77.Delbert Allen of Jacksonville, Florida, was driving a tractor-trailer, traveling north on I-77 around 7 a.m., said Trooper B.A. Ketner of the N.C. Highway Patrol. He said a car, driven by Alan Chey-Martinez of Charlotte, was traveling beside the truck in the left lane. The tractor-trailer attempted to merge into the left lane and hit the rear bumper of the car, which caused the car to spin and then strike a guardrail, Ketner said.Martinez and a passenger, Emmanuel Cruz, also of Charlotte, were transported to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and Allen was transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, Ketner said.Allen was cited for the lane control violation.Ketner said the crash blocked one lane of I-77 north just south of the northbound rest area, near mile maker 38.Mooresville and Shepherd’s fire departments and Iredell EMS responded to the crash.
