Johnson County, TN : One person dies, another injured after car crashes into Watauga Lake on Saturday night, March 14, 2015

One person has died and another person is injured after a car crashed into Watauga Lake Saturday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

THP says the car was traveling southbound on Highway 167 near the intersection of Lakeview Drive when it went through a stop sign and into the lake.

The passenger, 20-year-old Marena Ann Mikeal, was able to get out of the car and was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center. THP says the driver, 31-year-old Gregory Keith Harmon, did not make it out of the car.

Mikeal and Harmon are both from North Carolina.
