Ohatchee, AL : Froncine Wallace, 62 killed in a car crash in Calhoun County on Friday night, March 13, 2015
A Gadsden woman was killed Friday night in a two-vehicle wreck, according to Calhoun County’s assistant coroner.
Jay Bowden said 62-year-old Froncine Wallace was driving on Alabama 77 near Hart’s Ferry Road in Ohatchee when her Hyundai was struck by another vehicle.
According to Bowden, a 17-year-old girl riding in Wallace’s car was injured during the crash and taken to Riverview Regional Medical Center. Bowden said the teen’s injuries were not life-threatening.
The driver of the other car, a woman, was also taken to Riverview for injuries sustained during the wreck. Bowden said she was later transferred to UAB Hospital. He did not know what her status was.
The assistant coroner said Ohatchee police were investigating the accident. An attempt to contact that police department Saturday night was unsuccessful.
