Dauphin County, PA : Latrobe man killed in a one-vehicle accident in Derry Township on Wednesday, March 30, 2016

A Latrobe man was fatally injured in a one-vehicle accident shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Derry Township.

According to Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner Tim O'Donnell, Jakeb M. Roberts, 25, lost control of his Camaro while driving west on Pandora Road. The car overturned and Roberts, the sole occupant, was ejected, O'Donnell said.

Roberts was transported to Latrobe Area Hospital, and pronounced dead at 6:06 p.m. of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and chest.

The vehicle sheared off a utility pole. Traffic on Pandora Road, between Pittsburgh Street and Malone Road, was closed for several hours. State police, Derry Township and Derry Borough firefighters and West Penn Power and PennDOT crews responded.
