Woodruff,SC : Coroner identifies Chesnee woman killed in Spartanburg Co. crash on October, Thursday 5th 2017
Multiple people were injured and the coroner's office is responding after a crash in Spartanburg County, said officials.
The call came in at 4:41 p.m. Troopers said the incident occurred at 1521 E Georgia Road and SJ Workman Hwy. Injuries were initially reported.
The Assistant Woodruff Fire Chief told FOX the crash involved 2 vehicles, and 4 people were injured.
The Fire Chief said 3 of the injured victims were in one vehicle together, and the other injured victim was in another vehicle.
Coroner Randy Bogan later identified the victim as 21-year-old Anna Vasilyevna Ovdiychuk of Old Bear Creek Road in Chesnee. She was pronounced dead on the scene as a result of her injuries.
Bogan said the other victims injured in the crash were transported to Spartanburg Medical Center and their conditions are unknown at this time.
Troopers said Ovdiychuk was driving east on E Georgia Road with 2 passengers in tow when she ran a stop sign and crashed into a 1996 Ford F150, head on.
The two passengers in Ovdiychuk's vehicle were both injured and transported by EMS to Spartanburg Regional. The driver of the F150 was also injured and transported to the hospital.
This crash remains under investigation by SC Highway Patrol and the Coroner's Office.
