Lowell,OH : Head-on collision on Route 60 claims Lowell man on November, Wednesday 8th 2017
The Marietta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continued to investigate a two-vehicle fatal accident Wednesday on Route 60 south of Lowell in Washington County.
Michael Montgomery, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident just after 5 p.m.
The driver of the other vehicle, Jordin Brannon, 22, was flown by MedFlight to the Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. She was hospitalized in critical condition.
According to preliminary reports from the highway patrol, Brannan was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette north when she crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Montgomery.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Both the Silhouette and Uplander sustained extensive damage.
The patrol said neither drug or alcohol use nor seat belt use have been ruled out as factors in the crash.
The highway patrol was assisted at the scene by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, L-A Township Volunteer Fire Department, and Beverly-Waterford Volunteer Fire Department.
