Carlisle, PA : Three injured in I-81 crossover crash in South Middleton Township on Sunday, March 26, 2017
Life Lion was called to the scene of a crossover crash on Interstate 81 in South Middleton Township Sunday afternoon.
Bruce Brauer, 64, of Mechanicsburg, was traveling north on I-81 near mile-marker 47 (the Hanover Street exit near Carlisle) around 1:50 p.m. when he had an apparent medical emergency, which caused his loaded tractor-trailer to cross the median and enter the southbound lanes of traffic, according to State Police at Carlisle.
The tractor-trailer struck two vehicles in the southbound lane before coming to a stop, police said.
Life Lion was called to the scene, and Brauer, the driver of one of the vehicles, Cassandra Maurice, 21, of Carlisle, and her passenger, Jasmine Kole, 22, of Mount Holly Springs, were taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for suspected serious injuries, according to police.
