Monett, MO : Icy road causes wreck on I-44 on Monday, December 19th 2016

An Arkansas man was injured Saturday in a wreck at 5:05 p.m. on Interstate 44, two miles east of Mt. Vernon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ernest Munoz, 59, of Springdale, Ark., was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe and slowed for traffic when a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500, being driven by Miriam Hernandez Garcia, 47, of Broken Arrow, Okla., lost control on the icy road and its towed unit struck Munoz's vehicle.

Munoz suffered minor injuries and was transported Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Garcia was not injured.

Both were wearing safety devices, and both vehicle suffered minor damage.
