LOCKPORT, LA : 3 dead, 1 critically injured after crash in Lafourche Parish on Saturday, 8th June 2024

Three people died and a fourth was hospitalized in critical condition following a head-on crash in Lafourche Parish, the Louisiana State Police said Sunday (June 9).

The crash occurred Saturday, shortly after 6 a.m., along Louisiana Hwy. 308 near McCloud Drive, the agency said.

According to State Police, a 2018 Honda Accord driven by Ethelwaldo Dejesus of Metairie took a right curve on the southbound highway at excessive speed, crossing the center line and colliding head-on with a northbound 2022 Honda Pilot.

Dejesus, 55, and his passenger -- 30-year-old Braysi Pineda Zuniga of Kenner -- sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
