Lakeland, FL : One person was killed and Two driver s ware injured in weekend crash on August 9th 2014.
The Polk County Sheriff had strong words for the two drivers responsible for hitting and killing a bicyclist and pedestrian over the weekend.
"You can hide from us, but you can't hide from God," Sheriff Grady Judd said.
The Sheriff's Office has not received any leads on who is behind the fatalities and they are asking anyone who knows anything to come forward with information.
The first crash occurred around 2:17 a.m. Saturday on US Hwy 92 in the westbound lanes, at the intersection with Payne Street, in Auburndale. The victim, 27-year-old Hector Chavez of Auburndale, was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle, and was then struck again by multiple vehicles.
The at-fault vehicle in this crash that struck the victim first will have noticeable damage to the driver's side, the sheriff said. It's believed to be a 2010-2013 Camaro. The color is unknown.
The other crash occurred sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 3:00 a.m. Saturday in Lakeland.
Around 6:40 a.m., PCSO received a call from a motorist who saw an adult white female laying on the south side of the roadway of eastbound Clubhouse Road in Lakeland, near Tillery Road.
Jill Braddock, 20, of West Palmeden Road in Lakeland, appeared to have been deceased for at least a few hours.
The car that struck her is a 2007-2012 model Nissan Altima, that will have front-end and mirror damage on the passenger side. The mirror and other accessories left behind were after-market items, meaning the car may have been repaired in the past, the sheriff said.
Friends of Braddock said she often walked home from work and spoke about how dangerous it was. On Friday she was wearing a brace on her hand, a friend said, because of an injury from a car while walking.
