WESTMINSTER, MD : 1 dead in Route 140 crash near Westminster on Friday, 15th February 2019

A woman was killed in a crash Friday on Maryland Route 140 near Westminster, Maryland State Police said.

The crash, which involved two vehicles, happened around 2:30 p.m. near Pleasant Valley Road.Maryland State Police said the driver of a car headed west on Route 140 struck a guardrail and then crossed the centerline and struck another car head-on.

The driver of the first car, a 63-year-old Taneytown man, was flown to Shock Trauma.

The driver of the second car, Patricia Carol McCloskey, 72, of Taneytown, was pronounced dead at the scene. An 89-year-old passenger in the car was taken to Carroll Hospital Center for evaluation.
