LAS VEGAS, NV : 1 adult, 3 children seriously injured in crash on Thursday, 13th July 2023

An adult and three children suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in a collision between a sedan and a speeding SUV that ran a red light in the east Las Vegas valley Thursday night, according to police.

The collision was reported at about 8:30 p.m. on E. Owens Avenue at Marion Drive, just west of Nellis Boulevard, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Investigators believe that a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe was heading west on Owens at a high rate of speed when it ran through the red light and crashed into a 2019 Honda Civic heading south through the intersection with Marion.

All seven of the occupants in the Honda were taken to UMC Trauma. Police say four of those people - the 24-year-old driver and three juvenile passengers - suffered "substantial and life-threatening injuries." The other three passengers, all juveniles, suffered minor injuries.
