Twin Lakes, WI :Twin Lakes man dies in Walworth County crash on Tuesday, 4th October 2016
A 37-year-old Twin Lakes man is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 50, near Eastside Road Tuesday in Walworth County, according to a Town Bloomfield Police Department press release.
According to the release, a 22-year-old Genoa City man headed westbound on Highway 50 attempted a left turn into Eastside Road, where he was struck by the Twin Lakes man, who was driving east at around 6 p.m.
Consequently, the 37-year-old man was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
“The 22-year-old was transported to hospital for injuries sustained during the crash,” the release stated.
The Genoa City man’s condition is not known.
The crash resulted in partial closure of Highway 50 as authorities worked to clear the scene.
In addition to the Town of Bloomfield Police Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol along with officials from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Genoa City Police Department, Bloomfield-Genoa City Fire and Rescue, and Paratech Ambulance assisted with the crash.
“The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with the investigation and crash reconstruction,” the press release stated, adding contributing factors, including speed and impairment are unknown.
Pending notification of family members, the names of both involved have not been released, according to the press release.
