FLORENCE, AL : Two people injured in wreck on Cox Creek Parkwa on Thursday, 5th April 2018

Two people injured in the afternoon wreck on Cox Creek Parkway were flown to Huntsville Hospital, authorities said.

A third person, a passenger in one car, was not injured and refused medical treatment.

Emergency personnel said the two who were injured had to be cut from the vehicles, which hit head-on. Once removed from their cars, the victims were taken by Shoals EMS to Fairgrounds Park and were flown by Air Evac to Huntsville.

Reports indicate the accident occurred at 1:15 p.m. almost directly in front of Florence Eye Center.

The conditions of the two woman injured are not known.

The accident is under investigation by the Florence Police Department.
