Nashville, TN : Woman struck by hit-and-run driver on I-440 Saturday, April 23, 2016
A woman is recovering at Vanderbilt Hospital after a hit and run accident last night.
She was hit while walking along I-440 east near the West End exit. It's unclear if she had broke down or why she was on the freeway.
Witnesses told police she was struck by a silver Honda Sedan traveling at high speeds.
Officers say the Honda stopped momentarily and then drove away.
Emergency crews brought the woman to Vanderbilt Hospital. She is said to have life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, police are looking for the driver of that car.
The car was described by witnesses as a silver four-door Honda Sedan with blue glow lights underneath. The collision broke the Honda's passenger side mirror.
