Allentown, PA : Two drivers injured in eastern Berks two-vehicle crash on Rt. 61 on Sunday, 21st August, 2016
Two motorists were injured seriously Sunday afternoon in eastern Berks County when one vehicle spun into an oncoming car on Route 61, police said.
Thomas L. Krick, 56, of Shoemakersville, Berks County, was northbound on Route 61 in Perry Township at 2 p.m. when he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and collided with the car, state police at Hamburg said.
The southbound car was driven by Mark C. Gdowik, 54, of Laureldale, Berks County, police said. Krick's vehicle swerved into the southbound lane before the collision, police said.
Krick and Gdowik were taken to Reading Hospital by Schuylkill Valley EMS and Hamburg Ambulance.
The accident happened just south of Shoemakersville.
Krick was cited for driving at an unsafe speed, police said.
