Yazoo City, MS : 53-year-old Norman J. Scott died in a wreck in Yazoo County on Tuesday morning, August 2, 2016

According to Yazoo Police Department Investigator Terry Gann, 53-year-old Norman J. Scott, of Yazoo County, died on the scene of a wreck Tuesday morning.

Authorities say he was thrown from the car he was driving and it rolled over on top of him.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. on Highland Drive towards Ridge Road in Yazoo County. Sheriff says that Scott ran his car off the right shoulder of the road when it struck a tree and over turned.

We're told no other passengers were in the car.
