Lexington, MA : New Hampshire man killed when tanker truck rolls over on Route 128, spilling thousands of gallons of hot liquid tar on Saturday morning, September 13, 2014
A Lebanon man died when his tractor-trailer rolled over on I-95 Saturday morning. The crash, just south of exit 30 in Lexington, Massachusetts, tied up traffic for hours and left liquid asphalt leaking onto the road.
Police say 40-year-old Charles Vancor was at the wheel when the truck rolled just after 5 a.m. He died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, but the left travel lanes of I-95 north and southbound were closed from 5:10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The northbound side opened to traffic at 2:30; late Saturday afternoon, two lanes of I-95 southbound remained closed.
Investigators don't know yet what led to the crash. The tanker is owned by a Hooksett company.
