Phoenix, AZ : Man in wheelchair seriously injured after being hit by car in north Phoenix on Tuesday, 7th April, 2020

A man who uses a wheelchair faces life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car Tuesday night in north Phoenix, police officials said.

According to Sgt. Ann Justus with the Phoenix Police Department, the man was crossing against the light near 17th Avenue and Bell Road around 11:45 p.m. when he was hit by a car going west on Bell Road.

The man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Justus said the driver of the car remained at the location and cooperated with investigators.

Impairment or speed do not seem to be factors in the crash, police said.
