GLADSTONE, IL : 1 killed, three injured in crash along U.S. 34 in Henderson County, Illinois on Friday, 15th February 2019

One person was killed Wednesday due to injuries suffered as the result of a collision between a semi and an SUV along U.S. 34 in Henderson County, Illinois.

According to an accident report issued late Wednesday by the Iowa State Patrol, Helen R. Crandall, 75, of Oquawka, Illinois, was thrown from a 2019 Nissan Rogue after the vehicle struck a semi head-on while traveling east on U.S. 34 toward Gladstone Lake Road.

The Nissan, driven by Tina A. Wesely, 48, of Oquawka, had crossed the center line along the narrow stretch of two-lane roadway when it struck the semi, driven by Susan M. Block, 39, of Baldwin, Iowa.

Crandall was taken by Medforce helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where she died of her injuries.
