CARMEL, IN : Carmel Police Department officers are investigating a fatal accident on Saturday, June 10, 2017

Carmel Police Department officers are investigating a fatal accident early Saturday morning on US 31 northbound at the 146th Street bridge.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 12:30 a.m. to the report of a crash. Officers arrived and found a car had collided head-on with a pick-up truck pulling a trailer.

Preliminary investigation found that it appears the car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of US 31 when it struck the pick-up that was traveling in the northbound lanes.

The driver of the pick-up truck is identified as Hooman Rmaini of Nashville, Tennessee. He was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the car who died in the crash has not been identified notification of family.
