A man was killed in a crash on I-80 near the mouth of Parleys Canyon Monday.

Just before 11 p.m., a good Samaritan had stopped where two cars had slid off the road near 4100 East to see if anyone needed help, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. The woman parked her SUV on the side of the road and got out of her vehicle, according to the UHP.

A few minutes later, an oncoming Acura slid out of control into the SUV.

The driver, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was wearing a seatbelt. The man's name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.
