Knoxville, TN : Five-Six vehicles are involved in a crash near Cedar Bluff on I-40 Westbound Friday afternoon on September 26, 2014

A crash involving several vehicles created major back-ups for the Friday afternoon commute. Knoxville Police Department said five to six vehicles were involved in a crash near Cedar Bluff on Interstate 40 Westbound. As of 5 p.m. Friday, TDOT Smartway showed heavy congestion from Cedar Bluff all the way to Papermill Road. TDOT cameras appeared to show the crash blocking all of the westbound lanes. Dispatch said the call came in around 4:23 p.m. As of 6:30 p.m., TDOT Smartway estimated the crash would be clear by 7:30 p.m. No word yet on injuries from the crash.
