Pickens County, SC : Toddler killed, 2 injured in car crash on Five Forks Road in Liberty on Sunday morning, May 15, 2016
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that killed a toddler and injured two drivers Sunday morning, SCHP Lance Cpl. Tony Keller said.
Keller said a 36-year-old Liberty woman was driving a 2004 Chevy pickup truck west on Five Forks Road in Liberty and a 23-year-old Liberty man was driving a 2006 Jeep east on the road when the crash happened around 11:30 a.m.
Lillian Valerie Griffin, 3, of Liberty was strapped in a car seat in the back of the SUV during the crash, according to the Pickens County Coroner's Office.
Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene and the drivers of both vehicles were taken by ambulance to Greenville Memorial Hospital, troopers said.
The coroner said Lillian died of blunt force trauma.
The condition of the drivers injured in the crash is unknown at this time.
