Land O'Lakes, FL : Motorcyclist dies in Land O'Lakes crash on U.S. Highway 41 on Thursday afternoon, July 17, 2014

A 23-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed with a car Thursday afternoon.

About 3:50 p.m., Zachariah Thomas McCabe was riding south on U.S. Highway 41 on a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle approaching Community Center Road, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol. The report said McCabe was travelling at a high rate of speed and "completing multiple lane changes."

Isabel Rhonda, 69, of Land O'Lakes was heading north in the left turn lane in a 2005 Toyota SUV. When she turned left, McCabe's motorcycle hit the right side of her SUV.

McCabe, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle, which ended up in a crosswalk. He was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital North where he later died. Rhonda was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with minor injuries.
