DUNDEE TOWNSHIP, MI : Ida man dies from injuries sustained in Sunday crash on Thursday, 23rd October, 2016
The Ida man who was struck by a vehicle while crossing S. Custer Rd. near Dixon Rd. has died.
Daniel S. Lehr, 26, died Wednesday afternoon from injuries he suffered in the crash.
The crash occurred about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Preliminary investigation indicated that Mr. Lehr had just gotten out of a vehicle that was stopped on the north side of the road and was walking to a home on the south side of the road. About that time, Alexis M. McClain, 19, of Dundee was driving a blue 1997 Mercury Villager east on S. Custer Rd. Deputies reported Mr. Lehr failed to yield to the motorist and was struck in the eastbound lane of travel.
Mr. Lehr was transported by ambulance to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti.
Ms. McClain was not injured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by Deputies David Raymond and Jon Cregar of the Traffic Services Division. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 240-7711.
