A suspect has been arrested in the Tuesday morning police pursuit that ended in a three-vehicle collision.
Joshua Keith Fisher, 22, of 670 Ridgeville Church Road in Inman, was charged with failure to stop, armed robbery, grand larceny, housebreaking and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, Lt. Kevin Bobo said in a statement.Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies initially responded to 426 Ridgeville Church Road after receiving reports that a man was running across the front yard with a rubber mallet and “shouting unintelligible things,” according to an incident report from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, later identified as Fisher, also tried to enter the home on the property, the report states. The homeowner was mowing his yard and saw Fisher try to get it, according to the report.
The homeowner approached Fisher and told him to leave, but said he kept yelling erratically, according to the report. When the homeowner turned away, Fisher grabbed a gun from the man’s truck, according to the report.
The homeowner said as he ran to his house to get another gun, he heard Fisher fire twice and then drive off in the homeowner’s black GMC truck, according to the report.
