Eastbound now open between Orange Grove and Ina after serious accident

A man was impaled by a guard rail after he lost control of his car on Interstate 10 between Orange Grove Road and Ina Road Monday.

Jaws of life were used to extricate the victim inside the car. This took just under 40 minutes, according to Northwest Fire Captain Adam Goldberg.

The patient, who is in his late 30's, will be transported to University of Arizona Medical Center by a medical helicopter. He has life threatening injuries, Goldberg said.
