A woman died Monday southeast of Burley after her son, who was driving, fell asleep at the wheel.

Heydi Flores, 39, of Burley, was pronounced dead at the scene after the one-vehicle rollover crash.

Martin Romero, 17, also of Burley, was driving westbound on 500 S. Road at 579 E. Road at 5:30 a.m. when the vehicle went of the road, came back on the roadway and then rolled, the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Flores and Martin were both thrown from the vehicle.

Martin was taken to Cassia Regional Medical Center with “moderate injuries,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The crash remains under investigation.
