CACHE COUNTY, UT : A 33-year-old man was killed on Saturday, August 19, 2017

A 33-year-old man was killed after he drove his ATV over a 15-foot drop in Logan Canyon.

The Cache County Sheriff’s Office and medical crews were dispatched to an accident in the Franklin Basin area of Logan Canyon around noon Saturday, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The man was riding an ATV when he missed a bend in the road, drove his vehicle over the edge and fell roughly 15 feet, the release says. The man was not conscious or breathing when bystanders found him and started to perform CPR.

Medical responders attempted to save the man, but were unsuccessful. The man died at the scene, according to the release.

Police did not release the name of the man due to the ongoing investigation of the incident. Investigators are being assisted by Utah State Parks Department officials and the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
