Jefferson County, AL : Woman died and man injured in a crash between a pickup truck and tanker truck in Center Point Parkway on Friday morning September 5th 2014

A woman died in a crash in Center Point Parkway Friday morning. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office reports the wreck happened about 6:30 a.m., in the 1800 block of Center Point Road. The JCSO reports a pickup truck was travelling north on Center Point Road, when it crossed into the southbound lanes, where it struck a tanker truck that was pulling out of a lot. A 24 year old female died on the scene. The JCSO says the woman was a passenger in the pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was a 23 year old man, and was transported to a hospital, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The JCSO news release says the pickup truck driver's injuries are not believed to be life threatening. There's no word whether the tanker truck driver was injured.
