Eleven people were taken to a hospital Thursday afternoon after a van crashed into a semi truck on Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks, officials said. The crash was reported just before 2 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway at the Lynn Road exit. The California Highway Patrol was getting reports that the van blew a tire, crashed into the center divider and then hit the truck. The van ended up on its side. Sixteen people were in the passenger van when the crash occurred and 11 were taken to a hospital. Of those 11, five suffered moderate injuries and the rest had minor injuries, said Ventura County Fire Department spokesman Richard Macklin.
