Maysville, KY : A May's Lick man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, September 10, 2017

A May's Lick man was killed late Sunday in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 68 near Parry Lane, according to Mason County Deputy Chuck Fritz.

Michael E. Dyer, 46, driving a 2000 Ford F350 pickup truck, was westbound on the highway when he lost control of the truck for unknown reasons, Fritz said. The truck struck the guardrail on the westbound should, followed the barrier to its end, then veered off into a field and up onto the road's embankment, Fritz said. The truck traveled parallel to the embankment before it came off the wall, dropping 25 feet to U.S. 68, the deputy said.

The truck landed on its side, entrapping Dyer. Emergency personnel had to extract Dyer using the Jaws of Life, Fritz said.

Dyer was alone in the vehicle.
