Jackson,MS : Pedestrian killed on HWY 63 overnight on September, Tuesday 12th 2017

A pedestrian walking on Highway 63 was killed early Tuesday morning.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Public Affairs Officer Chase Elkins told WLOX News it happened just after midnight near Old Saraceinna Road. Elkins reports James Cunningham, 28, of Moss Point, was walking in the right lane when he was hit by an approaching car.

He died at the scene. The driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
