Washington State Patrol troopers say a Snohomish County sheriff's deputy is to blame for a Friday car crash that injured several people.
The crash happened near the intersection of 23rd and Rockefeller when the deputy ran a stop sign and crashed into an SUV, according to WSP.
The patrol car then spun around and crashed into a 59-year-old pedestrian, pinning him below the waist against a work truck.
The pedestrian was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle while four inside the vehicles, a 21-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, a 74-year-old man and the 59-year-old male deputy, were taken to a local hospital, but officials didn't have the extent of any of the injuries.
A one-block radius around the crash site was closed for the investigation but was expected to reopen Friday evening.
Everett police said the Washington State Patrol would handle the investigation. No one has been arrested or citied.
