Benton County, WA : Richland Officer injured after man crashes into patrol car on Sunday evening, February 14, 2016

The Washington State Patrol says a Richland Police Officer was injured Sunday evening after a man crashed into her patrol car.

Troopers say around 9:26 p.m. 74-year-old Robert Fuhrman of Richland was heading east on Keene Road from Shockley Road when he hit the patrol car that was parked on the side of the road for a traffic stop.

Troopers say 34-year-old Officer Michelle Goenen was injured. Medics took her to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. The hospital says doctors discharged her from the emergency room early Monday morning. Furhman was not hurt.

According to troopers, the overhead lights on the patrol car were on. They say there was no drugs or alcohol involved. Furhman is facing charges for Failing to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle.
