A Bakersfield woman involved in a minor traffic collision, who agreed to meet with the other driver to exchange information, was assaulted and robbed Thursday by two men from the other vehicle, Bakersfield police said in a news release Friday.
The incident began at about 3:20 p.m. when a female was driving away from the Bank of America on Ming Avenue when her vehicle was struck from behind by another car, police said in the release.
She and the driver of the other vehicle, described as a black Mercedes, agreed to meet in the nearby Carl’s Jr parking lot to exchange insurance information.
While inspecting the Mercedes for damage, one of the men, described as a black male in his 20s, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and approximately 220 pounds, wearing a black button up shirt and red shorts, forced the victim to the ground and violently assaulted her.
A second suspect described only as a black male exited the vehicle and removed items from the victim’s vehicle during the assault.
