Lawrenceville, GA : Two people died in a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle crash at Highway 316 On Thursday, June 30th, 2016

Two people died in a wreck on Interstate 85 near Duluth Thursday afternoon in a crash that backed traffic up for miles, authorities said.

The wreck happened on the northbound side of the road near Ga. Highway 316 and involved a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Details on the cause and the identities of the deceased weren’t immediately available from the Gwinnett County Police Department.

DOT said six of seven lanes were blocked on the interstate as police investigated the crash. It was backed up for five miles.
