A motorcycle crash in Pelham sent a man to the hospital Sunday morning.

Police officers and firefighters were called to the intersection of Old Bridge and Bridge streets regarding a single-vehicle crash.

They found a maroon Kawasaki Concourse motorcycle lying on its side in the middle of the road and discovered the rider, 60-year-old Michael Wagstaff, of Pelham, on the ground.

He was taken to Tufts Medical Center in Boston with severe head injuries.

Police said it appears Wagstaff was heading north on his motorcycle when he lost control.

Police are still investigating the accident but do not believe speed or alcohol were factors.
