Chicago, IL : Several people injured after Dan Ryan 2-car crash on Saturday morning, January 21, 2017
Several people were taken to hospitals after two cars collided on the inbound Dan Ryan Expressway Saturday morning.
A red Ford and a white Ford were traveling north in the local lanes near 47th Street when they collided about 9:30 a.m., causing one car to flip over, according to an Illinois State Police Chicago District trooper.
Six ambulances went to the scene and took “four or five’’ people to hospitals with minor injuries, the trooper said.
The crash site was cleared of wreckage and lanes opened back up by about 10:10 a.m.
An EMS Plan One alert, which automatically sends at least six ambulances to the scene, was called shortly after 9:30 a.m. for the accident, said Larry Langford, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.
