Police in Massachusetts say two young children were injured when they were hit by a car while playing inside a cardboard box near a driveway.
New Bedford police say a 5-year-old girl and her 6-year-old brother were struck Thursday by the homeowner, who couldn’t see the box. The girl suffered serious injuries and was flown to Boston Children’s Hospital. The boy suffered minor injuries.
Police say the investigation continues, but it appears to be an accident. They have not released the name of the driver.
