WYTHE COUNTY, VA : Man thrown from pickup and killed in Wythe County crash on Sunday, 19th May 2024

A Maryland man was killed in a crash Sunday in Wythe County, according to Virginia State Police.

Juan J. Macias, 32 of Baltimore, was ejected and died at the scene.

Police say Macias was driving a Ford F-150 pickup May 19, 2024 at 8:55 a.m. on Interstate 81 southbound at mile marker 83. They say he was speeding, went off the road, hit a guardrail and rolled over twice, stopping on nearby Formato Lane. He was thrown from the pickup and pronounced dead at the scene.
