Provo,UT : Pleasant Grove woman killed in Summit County motorcycle crash on may, Sunday 28th 2017

A Pleasant Grove woman was killed Sunday afternoon near Woodland in a motorcycle accident, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jared Cornia said Claire Benson, 47, was riding a motorcycle southbound on State Route 35 when she failed to negotiate a turn, veered into oncoming traffic and collided head on with a Dodge truck.Benson died on impact, according to Utah Highway Patrol. The driver of the truck had only minor injuries from the incident.

Benson and her husband had been riding their motorcycles together, Cornia said.According to Utah Highway Patrol, they are investigating the incident and suspect excessive speed played a major part in the incident.
