Benton, PA : Two men died after ATV went down an embankment and flipped over in Fairmount Township on Saturday, April 30, 2016

Authorities say an all-terrain vehicle went down an embankment and flipped over in northeastern Pennsylvania, killing two men.

State police in Luzerne County said speed is presumed to have been a factor in the crash, which occurred just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Fairmount Township.

Police said the vehicle failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway and traveled about 160 feet, partially off the roadway, before hitting a stump and going down the embankment.

Police said 35-year-old Timothy Brek of Sweet Valley and 25-year-old Tyler Chapin of Stillwater were both thrown from the vehicle. Police said both were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither was using safety equipment.

State police are investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call investigators.
