Citrus County , FL : 50- Years old Thomas Edward Bowers killed in crash while driving his all-terrain vehicle in Citrus County on Saturday evening ,April 4th 2015

A Floral City man was killed Saturday evening in a crash while driving his all-terrain vehicle in Citrus County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Thomas Edward Bowers, 50, was driving his ATV with no lights north on S Florida Avenue in the area of E Oak Forest Street around 8:19 p.m., authorities said. James Owens, 54, who was driving south on S Florida Avenue and unable to see Bowers, started to turn left toward E Oak Forest Street into the ATV's path, according to the Highway Patrol.

The front bumper of Owens' car hit the ATV's front, causing Bowers to be ejected, according to authorities. Bowers died as a result of his injuries, while Owens and passenger Cody Owens, 19, were not injured, the Highway Patrol said.
