LAS VEGAS, NV : 1 dead, 2 hospitalized following head-on crash near Lake Mead, Decatur on Sunday, 3rd March 2024

One person is dead and two have been hospitalized following a head-on collision in the central Las Vegas valley on Sunday night.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred at 9:08 p.m. on West Lake Mead Boulevard and Sawyer Avenue. Police determined that a Toyota Scion was traveling westbound on Lake Mead at a high speed, while a Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Lake Mead.

The crash occurred when the Scion entered the eastbound lanes and collided with the Civic.

Arriving medical personnel declared the passenger of the Civic – identified as a 62-year-old woman – dead at the scene. The drivers of the Scion and the Civic were transported to UMC Trauma with critical injuries, where both remain in “critical condition.”
