Rapid City, SD : One person is dead after a single vehicle rollover crash on Wednesday, September 13, 2017

One person is dead after a single vehicle rollover crash just before 5 p.m. Wednesday on a Rapid City street.

The Rapid City Fire Department and Rapid City Police Department said the crash was near the Rapid Creek bridge at West Omaha Street and Mountain View Road.

A joint news release from the departments said a four-door passenger car was eastbound and hit the bridge "at a high rate of speed" and left the road, coming to a stop in the 2100 block of West Omaha, near the bike path by the creek.

According to authorities, the driver was found dead at the scene. The driver's identity was being withheld so relatives could be notified.

No one else was hurt.
